       Creating a multimedia curriculum
        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: ICT co-ordinators and senior managers

This course is intended to bring alive the possibilities that multimedia offers learners throughout school. The first session will examine examples of multimedia work carried out in schools. The second session will show how schools can begin to work with multimedia themselves without breaking their budget. The afternoon will look at issues of teaching and learning, progression and assessment with a final hour for delegates to produce their own action plan and set priorities.

       Cross-curricular ICT

        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: ICT co-ordinators and senior managers

Cross-curricular ICT has always been embedded in the National Curriculum, but many schools have found it difficult to realise in practice. This course will provide lots of examples of ways in which schools have achieved a cross-curricular approach in different subjects. The emphasis will be on the use of digital media, and a key component of this course will be time for delegates to exchange experiences from their own practice.

Basic multimedia skills using free software

        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: Anybody interested in acquiring basic multimedia skills.

This is a fun day in which delegates will see lots of examples of multimedia made by children. There will be a review of some of the free resources available to schools and plenty of time in which delegates can have a go themselves. Important multimedia editing concepts and skills will be examined and practiced. By the end of the day the delegates will have gained enough confidence to have a go themselves in the classroom.

How to be a successful ICT co-ordinator

        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: ICT co-ordinators or prospective ICT co-ordinators

Being an ICT co-odinator is one of the most demanding roles in any school. Ask anyone who has done the job, and they will tell you how it is possible to go from hero to villain in moments; destined to try and fulfil impossible demands from one term to the next. This course is led by a highly experienced ICT co-ordinator. It is full of practical advice, ideas and strategies that will help the hard-pressed co-ordinator raise his or her eyes above the parapet to see the bigger picture.
The course fee includes membership of the Creative ICT co-ordinator online forum.

How to manage a school website

        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: Senior managers, staff responsible for school websites

This day will provide a useful insight for managers into the principles of web design, particular problems that schools face in designing and managing websites, legal issues, costs etc. Successful school websites are few and far between, most are left for months or even years without being updated. It doesn't have to be this way...

       Strategic development planning for ICT

        - Duration: 1 day
        - Audience: Senior managers and ICT co-ordinators

Grand vision, or pragmatic realism? Developing a coherent ICT development plan is a vital component of any school's forward view, and yet, it is often left to an ICT co-ordinator who doesn't have a wide enough remit to look at the role of ICT across the school, not just as a tool for teaching and learning, but for efficient administration and communication. This demanding day will help managers understand concepts such as "Total cost of ownership (TCO)"; consider the implications of migrating to new technologies; understanding training and support requirements; realistic year-on-year budget planning and much more. There will be time for you to review your existing situation and set priorities for the future.
